Faculty member explores lives touched by cancer

St. Olaf Assistant Professor of Dance Anthony Roberts is exploring issues surrounding cancer and how it affects lives through a project that will include multiple 15- to 30-second videotape clips of St. Olaf faculty and staff whose lives have been touched by cancer.

?In essence, I plan to explore through movement, text and video projection, issues surrounding the loss of my brother, Tom, who died of cancer in 2001,? says Roberts. This exploration will culminate in a work to be presented in April 2004, in the Dittmann Center at St. Olaf College. ?I intend for the project to be an educational vehicle, as well as an emotional journey,? he adds.

St. Olaf community members who have been affected by cancer and are interested in participating in this project should contact Phyllis Stuckmayer at x3334 or stuckmay@stolaf.edu.
