Norwegian tuba soloist, Oystein Baadsvik, to give recital at St. Olaf College

Oystein Baadsvik, one of the best tuba soloists in the world, will give a recital at St. Olaf College on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 8:15 p.m. in Christiansen Hall of Music, Urness Recital Hall. Joining Baadsvik in this recital, will be Jorgen Larsen, pianist.

Baadsvik, of Norway, started playing the tuba at the age of 15 and began his international career in 1991 with two prizes at the prestigious Concours International d' Execution Musicale (CIEM) in Geneva. He released his first CD shortly after that and in 2003 his latest CD "Tuba Carnival" for tuba and strings, was released. Baadsvik also composes music and conducts many of his own orchestral concerts. This recital is free and open to the public.
