John Kilbride named to head advancement at St. Olaf

John Kilbride '87 has been named vice president for advancement at St. Olaf College. He succeeds Gordon Soenksen, who recently accepted a position as Associate Dean for Development at Duke University.

As head of the advancement division, Kilbride will oversee alumni and parent relations, annual giving, planned giving, principal gifts and stewardship.

Kilbride holds a bachelor's degree in economics and religion from St. Olaf, as well as a master's degree in higher education policy and administration from the University of Minnesota. Kilbride worked at the college from 1988 to 1992 in various roles, then served as a fund-raiser at Luther Seminary for seven years before returning to St. Olaf in 2000 as a principal gifts officer.
