Wellstone and his followers refused to play it safe, in life or in death

His refusal to abandon his "populist edge" was the late Sen. Paul Wellstone's greatest strength and his Achilles heel, writes St. Olaf Professor of Political Science Dan Hofrenning in an opinion piece in the Star Tribune. A frequent media commentator, Hofrenning will appear on the ABC affiliate KAAL-TV in Austin, Minn., on election night, Nov. 2.
