Oles Give Concordia A Scare

Even after a fantastic 57.7 field goal percent in the first half that put them up 40-30, the Oles weren?t able to hold off the Cobbers, losing 68-76, pushing their record to 7-10 overall and 5-9 in the MIAC. Concordia forced 25 turnovers, stealing the ball 16 times and had a crucial scoring run late in the second half to seal the victory.

Finishing the game at 45.5% from the field, the Oles had four players in double figures. Cara Battles (Jr., McGregor, Minn.) led the Oles with 16 points and Lisa Eidenshink (So., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) provided 14 points. Amamda Renneke (Northfield, Minn.) and Elisa Hatlevig (Sr., Rushford, Minn.) had 11 and 10 respectively. Hatlevig and Lori Endlund (FY, Bloomington, Ill.) each boarded a team-high eight rebounds.

Concordia also had four players in double figures, led by Sara Spears who had game-highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Also, Brandi Meyers had 16 points, followed by Trisha Steinborn with 15, and Katrina Wilberts with 11.

The Oles will travel to Macalester on Saturday, February 3 for a 3:00 tip-off.
