Oles Roll Past Macalester

Led by Elisa Hatlevig?s (Sr., Rushford, Minn.) 11 points, the Oles rolled past Macalester College 56-41. Kelly Sweeney (FY, Oakdale, Minn.) followed with seven. St. Olaf has won two out of their last three games and upped their record to 8-10 overall; 6-9 in the MIAC.

The Oles forced 30 turnovers, but did not take control of the game until midway through the second half. Jill Johnson (FY, Butterfield, Minn.) and Kelly Sweeney teamed up to spark the Oles. At the 14-minute mark, Johnson scored three on an offensive put-back and a free throw and on the next possession Sweeney countered with a steal and a score off the lay-up. The Oles scored six unanswered points and found themselves at the charity stripe, going 18-25.

Lisa Eidenschink (So., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) led the Oles on the glass with seven rebounds. St. Olaf led the battle of the boards by only two, but grabbed 22 offensive rebounds to the Scots' eight.

St. Olaf will host the Hamline Pipers on Monday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Skoglund Athletic Center and will travel to St. Benedict on Wednesday, February 7 to take on the Blazers at 7:30 p.m.
