The Ole women dropped this week's series to St. Kate's despite some strong individual performances.

The Ole women faced off in a tough conference match up Thursday night versus St Catherine's in St Paul. The Oles held the Wildcats to a 0-0 game until 7:29 of the first period when St Catherine's jumped on the board with their first goal. They were quick to add another goal a minute later. The Oles held off the Wildcats for another eight minutes before St Catherine's knocked in two more at the end of the period.

The Oles came out strong in to start the second period. Capitalizing on a power play opportunity, defender Sarah Ray (SO St Paul, MN) scored with a big shot just inside the blue line. Despite the Oles strong effort, St Catherine's rallied ten minutes later to offset the Ole goal before adding two more goals by the end of the period, making the score 7-1 in favor of the Wildcats.

St Catherine's scored two more in the third period, despite a strong effort by the Ole women. Goalie Amanda Chumbley (SO Menomonee Falls, WI) had 39 saves for the Oles. The Oles face St Catherine's again this Saturday at 7pm at the Northfield Ice Aren

The Ole women faced off for the second time in a week against conference rival St. Catherine's on Saturday night in Northfield. The Oles came out strong in the first period and their hard work was quickly rewarded with a goal at 1:17 by Sarah Ray (SO St. Paul, MN), assisted by captain Nadia Nickerson (SR Powell, WY). The Oles continued to skate hard and five minutes after her first goal, Ray scored St. Olaf's second goal of the night. Unfortunately for the Ole women, St. Catherine's was able to take advantage of three power play opportunities to go into the locker room after the first period with a 3-2 lead.

Once again, the Oles came out strong in the second period, but were unable to score any more goals. St. Kate's increased their lead with four more goals to make it 7-2 after the second period. Despite a strong show, the Oles were defeated by a final score of 9-2 after the third period. Goalie Amanda Chumbley (SO Menomonee Falls, WI) had 41 saves for the game.
