February 15, 2001

After a series of losses, the St. Olaf Women bounced back with a 24 point win over the College of St. Catherine 82-58. Playing everyone on the squad, the Oles had 13 players in the scoring column. The win puts St. Olaf at 8-12 in the MIAC and 10-13 overall.

Leading by nine at the break, 42-33, St. Kate's attacking offense kept the Oles on the defensive for most of the first half. After the break the Oles took control, dominating the half 40-25. Coming at the Wildcats with a balanced attack, the Oles had different leaders in most categories. Elisa Hatlevig (Sr., Rushford, Minn.) led St. Olaf in scoring with 15, Liz Woodrow (Jr., Aitkin, Minn) led in rebounds with a game-high seven, and Carrie Cooley (Jr., Villard, Minn.) had a game-high five steals. Cara Battles (Jr., McGregor, Minn.) and Liz Mundahl (So., Eagan, Minn.) also scored in double figures for the Oles, each with 11. By game's end the Oles shot 41% from the field and 78% from the charity stripe, going 21-27.

Scoring most of their 48 points in the first half, Kate Stodolka, Racheal Burzinski and Renae Bebler had 18, 16 and 14 points for the Wildcats.

The Oles will finish their season at cross-town rival Carleton College Saturday, February 17 at 1:00. The men will follow at 3:00 and both games can be heard on KDHL 920 AM.
