The St. Olaf Women's Track and Field Team won the St. Ben's Quadrangular this past Saturday. The Oles scored 214 points, St. Ben's finished in second with 204 points. Most Oles had their season best performances in the final tune-up meet before the MIAC Championships hosted by St. John's this coming weekend.

Sophomore Megan Daymont (Northfield, Minn.) had an outstanding performance in the 800 meter race. Daymont's 2nd place time of 2:15.42 broke the 21 year old school record held by Ole standout Leslie Seymour. This performance is a provisional qualifying time and ranks Daymont fourth in the country. Daymont teamed up with Janet Hengel (Sartell, Minn.), Marit Grorud (Fremont, Neb.), and Abby Love (Appleton, Wis.) for a win in the 1600 M relay; also in the fastest time run by the Oles this year.

Seniors Katie Storlie (St. Louis Park, Minn.) and Megan Magnall (Waverly, Iowa) were other individual winners for the Ole team. Storlie won the 1000 meters with a time of 3:14.93 while Magnall won the 3000 meters in a time of 11:15.74. Hengel improved her provisional qualification in the pole vault with a vault of 3.22 meters, and placed second in the meet. Other Ole second place finishes include first year Erin Davidson (St. Paul, Minn.) in the long jump, first year Lauren Topel (North Oaks, Minn.) in the high jump, first year Becky Peterson (Plymouth, Minn.) in the 55 hurdles, Love in the 400 meter dash and junior Brigid Franey (Lexington, Ky.) in the 1500 meter run. Oles finishing in third were Hengel in the 55 hurdles, Peterson in the 400 meter dash, senior co-captain Sara Daymont (Northfield, Minn.) in the 600 meter dash, Grorud in the 800 meter run, first year Katie Gruner (Appleton, Wis.) in the 1000 meter, senior co-captain Anne Sateren (Minneapolis, Minn.) in the 1500 meter race and senior Suzanne DePaulo (St. Louis Park, Minn.) in the 3000 meter run.

The Oles travel to St. John's for the Indoor MIAC Championships this weekend and are looking for a top third finish in the meet. The meet kicks off on Thursday with three first year-athletes competing in the pentathlon.
