Ole Mens Tennis Defeats Concordia 6-1

The Oles only senior Pete Nau (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) played #1 singles and won 6- 4, 6-3, while junior Karl Wilbur (Edina, Minn.) won easily 6-2, 6-2 at #2. The lone sophomore Peder Thoen (Kolsas, Norway) won 6-4, 6-1 at #3 while junior Brandon Hall (Dubuque, Iowa) won with ease at #4, winning 6-1, 6-2. First-year Ted Nagel (Oglesby, Ill.) won at #5 singles 6-1, 6-3 while twin brother Tom Nagel, struggled and lost 7-5, 3-6, 4-6 at #6 singles.

The doubles, which were actually played before the singles, also went in favor of the Oles. #1 doubles of Nau and Wilbur won easily 8-2, while twin towers Ted and Tom Nagel lost a close match 7-9 at #2. #3 doubles of Thoen and Hall won 8-6 to give the Oles the doubles point of the match.

With that, the Oles won their first match, while recording their first MIAC win of the year in defeating Concordia 6-1.
