St. Olaf economics major Adam Gettings '04, co-founder of Robotex, created what Fortune magazine describes as a robot designed to replace human soldiers. And he did it with a fraction of the budget that current defense contractors use.

"This is the new defense, Silicon-Valley style," Gettings says.
