TPT to add special simulcast broadcast to St. Olaf holiday programming
DECEMBER 23, 2007 — The Dec. 19 PBS premiere of the 2007 Christmas Festival was seen by an estimated 2.5 million people. And in addition to the upcoming Dec. 24 and 25 national broadcasts, Twin Cities Public Television will present this year's Christmas Festival simulcast that was seen in 197 movie theatres across the country Dec. 2.

New grants enhance St. Olaf diversity efforts
DECEMBER 20, 2007 — Recent grants from the National Science Foundation and the McNair Foundation have increased the collective impact of St. Olaf programs aimed at supporting underrepresented, first-generation and low-income students who are enrolled at the college.

DECEMBER 17, 2007 — St. Olaf football player Horace Gant '08 has been named to D3Football.com's All-America Third Team. Gant, who had 65 receptions for 1,121 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, is the first St. Olaf student-athlete to be named to a D3Football.com All-America team in the nine-year history of the awards.

Those who attended the live broadcast posted more than 200 reviews at Fandango, a site that provides moviegoers with reviews, commentary, trailers and tickets.

DECEMBER 6, 2007 — Members of an art class at St. Olaf have turned an instruction to create pieces centered on the theme "a sense of place" into unique artwork that will be on display in the Dittmann Center student gallery. "There are 15 students in the class and 15 entirely different solutions and approaches to the problem," says faculty member John Saurer.

St. Olaf receives 150 original Warhol works
DECEMBER 5, 2007 — St. Olaf College's Flaten Art Museum is receiving an early Christmas present: 150 original photographs by Andy Warhol. The famed pop artist's work is arriving at St. Olaf as part of an effort to "provide greater access to Warhol's artwork and process."

DECEMBER 4, 2007 — St. Olaf wide receiver Horace Gant '08 has been selected to play for the American Football Coaches Association Division III all-star team that will represent the United States against the Mexican National Team in the 2007 Aztec Bowl in Mexico.

"The Northfield college is the Mesopotamia of choral singing, and F. Melius Christiansen is its Abraham, a progenitor whose presence is still palpable nearly 100 years after he founded the choir."
