Gisselman 'amps up' Guthrie's Christmas Carol

December 11, 2007

This year St. Olaf faculty member Gary Gisselman, artist in residence in the Theatre Department, is directing his seventh staging of the Guthrie Theater's production of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Star Tribune reviewer Rohan Preston wrote recently that Gisselman has "amped up the production" and given it more life than in previous years. Preston also calls the production's story "even tighter," resulting in a "winning, spirit-led reminder of our interconnections in this season of mirth and giving."

Alumni who are involved with the production include cast members Douglas Scholz-Carlson '90, Collin Christe '07 and Nicholas Sahli '07, plus directing intern Dionne Laviolette '07 and stage managing intern Marie Strampe '07.
