Barry White, the newly appointed U.S. ambassador to Norway, visited St. Olaf Jan. 10. President David R. Anderson '74 led White on a campus tour and a visit to the Norwegian-American Historical Association that is headquartered at St. Olaf. During the visit, which also included dinner at the home of President Anderson, White met with faculty and students and stated his interest in continuing to promote educational exchange between the United States and Norway.

St. Olaf was founded by Norwegian immigrants and is known for maintaining close ties with Norway, including numerous visits to the college by members of Norway's royal family and Norwegian diplomats.
