Students participating in the Political Identities in Coastal Central Europe class, led by Associate Professor of Political Science "Paddy" Dale, have received some exposure in the Balkans.



Bringing the Siberian Arctic to the Hill

Students will perform some of the same research that scientists have done in the Arctic right here on the Hill as part of a class led by faculty member John Schade, who has spent two summers in the Siberian Arctic and plans to return again this year.



'Moscow Times' features St. Olaf class

This month 600 St. Olaf students are spread around the world studying Spanish in Ecuador, mathematics in Budapest, touring Japan with the St. Olaf Band, and more. The Moscow Times recently caught up with faculty member Marc Robinson (at right) to learn about his Theater in Russia class.



Rhodes work

In late 2007 the St. Olaf community learned that Ishanaa Rambachan '08 and Nicole Novak '08 had been chosen to receive prestigious Rhodes Scholarships that would send the classmates to study at Oxford University for two years. Hofrenning surprised that 'party endorsement still has value'

Professor of Political Science Dan Hofrenning was quoted recently in the St. Paul Pioneer Press regarding Minnesota's gubernatorial race. "One surprise in the 21st century is that the party endorsement still has value," he told the paper.

Student tells mother's saga on MPR

Mara Fink '11, who interned with Minnesota Public Radio this fall, has filed an MPR story about a life-threatening ski accident that her mother survived 11 years ago. "My mom's accident has taught me that I need to love myself for who I am, not what I've accomplished," she says.
