After my brother, Tom, died, I needed to talk about and work through my experiences with his illness and death. I also came to realize that it was equally important to let others continue their journeys of healing by sharing their stories and experiences with me. Through this simple exchange of stories, healing began, or continued, and evolved with each telling. If it had not been for the generosity of those courageous and sensitive individuals who shared their stories with me and took the time to listen to mine, my path toward healing would not be as well worn or secure as it is now.
