NBS Fall Conference
Looking Forward; Looking Back
Northern Boundary Section hosts an annual Fall Conference somewhere in the regional area including North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. The topics for the conference, dates, and location of the event are confirmed at our membership meeting held at the National Conference in March of each year. The fall conference is typically scheduled for one of the first several weekends in September. As a member of NBS, it is your opportunity to be involved in the conference as participant, organizer, leader,or planner.
Last September, our Fall Conference was hosted by the Theater Department of Anoka Ramsey Community College in Anoka, MN. The Conference included sessions sessions on Faux Paint Finishes, Period Hair Techniques & Wound Makeup Techniques including Zombies!, Counterweight Rigging History, Identifying Vintage Costume Details, SketchUp for Scenic Design, Live Sound Mixing Tips, Thrift Store Costume Transformations, Dimming LED Fixtures, and Working with Unusual and Salvaged Materials.
The conference kicked off on Friday evening, September 5 with a Keynote presentation by Christopher Lutter-Gardella, founder of Puppet Farm Arts
