Men's basketball takes tough road loss against Saint John's

The Saint Olaf Mens Basketball Team experienced another tough loss on Monday night against Saint Johns. The Johnnies outscored the Oles in both halves and walked away with a 86-58 win.
The game was close for most of the first half. The Oles were able to stay close to the Johnnies until they made a late run which resulted in a 45-27 score. In the second half, the Oles trimmed the lead down to fourteen but were unable to come any closer as the Johnnies pulled away for good.
Dane Huber (So. Northfield, Minn.) had a good game netting 17 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Also scoring double figures was Jon Butala (FY West St. Paul, Minn.) with ten points. The Oles did out rebound the Johnnies 35-31, but turned the ball over 23 times.
The loss is the tenth straight to Saint Johns and it drops the Oles to 1-4 in MIAC play and 4-6 overall. The next game is Wednesday, January 7th when the Oles host Bethel College at Skoglund Arena at 7:30 p.m.
