St. Olaf College President Christopher M. Thomforde, an ordained Lutheran pastor, will speak on "Lordship and Leadership" at the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday, Jan. 18, at Lands Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. Founded 136 years ago by local Norwegian-Americans and B.J. Muus, who also founded St. Olaf College, the church has long had a strong relationship with the college.

"Growing in Christ, Caring in Community, Reaching Out in Service" is the mission of the 800-member congregation, located in a beautiful rural setting north of Rochester, Minn. Thomforde is speaking at the invitation of Lands Pastor Rob Nelson. The president is a frequent guest preacher at ELCA congregations
