St. Olaf played the Augsburg Auggies on Saturday, January 10, in Minneapolis, Minn. The Oles came up short in the final minutes and lost 73-64.

The Oles completely controlled the first half action, led by Holly Grimsrud's (FY, Zumbrota, Minn.) 11 points. Up by as many as 12, the Oles were leading 35-30 at the half.

In the second half the Auggies came back and had tied the game with 12 minutes of play remaining. Tough offensive rebounding and 27 second chance points by the Auggies allowed them to break away and take the lead with four minutes to play, and the Oles could not catch up.

Leading the Oles with 19 points was Grimsrud, and Jill Johnson (Sr., Butterfield, Minn.) had 13. Kelly Sweeney (Sr., Oakdale, Minn.) had eight rebounds in her 25 minutes of play, but was sidelined with a knee injury near the end of the game.

The Oles host Macalaster, on Wednesday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m at Skoglund Arena.
