Men's hockey on three game winning streak, with 4-2 victory over Bethel

The St. Olaf Mens hockey team completed in two weekend game weekend series with the Bethel Royals. The Oles, coming off a two game sweep last weekend over Lawrence, continued their winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Bethel on Friday, January 16.
The Oles played the first of the two games on the road. The Oles jumped out to an early lead when Josh Biser (So., Waunakee, Wis.) tallied his sixth goal of the season on a rebound shot in front. Biser used his sized to gain position on the Bethel defender and slipped the puck past the goalie. The first period ended knotted at one goal apiece.
The Oles came out in the second period fired up as Dan Norsten (Sr., Eagan, Minn.) hustled up the ice and slammed home a rebound goal on the powerplay. Keith Townsend (Jr., Sterling Heights, Mich.) tipped in a pass from Ted Bickle (So., Minnatonka, Minn.). Bickle drove infront of the net, drawing the defenders to him then slipped the puck back to an open Townsend.
Norsten tallied an empty net goal to close out the victory. Senior goalie Garret Hasti (St. Louis Park, MN) made 38 saves for the Oles in the net.
St. Olaf hosts Bethel for game two on Saturday, January 17 at the Northfield Ice Arena at 7:00 p.m.
