The St. Olaf Men?s Basketball Team experienced a tough loss Monday, December 8, to Gustavus. The Gusties shot the lights out in Skoglund arena, connecting on 64.4% of their shots, including a blistering 66.7% from behind the arc, while the Oles struggled to get the ball in hoop, and fell 86-49.

The game started out fast and furious with both teams changing buckets, but the Gusties brilliant shooting allowed them to pull away. The Oles were unable to connect, hitting only 32% of their shots. The Oles battled back twice to get within thirteen points, but the hot shooting of the Gusties proved to be too much to handle as they fell behind for good in the second half.

The lone Ole to reach double figures was Matt Schlenker (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) who scored ten points and grabbed six rebounds. Ole Pat Fraser (Jr., Bloomingon, Minn.) added nine points, while Jon Butala (FY, St. Paul, Minn.) added eight points.

The loss puts the team at 1-2 in the MIAC and 3-2 overall. The Oles look to rebound on Wednesday, December 10, when they take on the cross-town rival Carleton in Skoglund Arena at 8:00.
