The St. Olaf women's team travelled to Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minn. on Saturday, December 6th in search of their first season win. The Cardinals, however, took control of the game early and sailed past the Oles 82-62.

The Oles were led by Jill Johnson (Sr. Butterfield, Minn.) with 27 points and eight rebounds. Natalie Rigelman (So. Lake City, Minn.) and Kelly Sweeney (Sr. Oakdale, Minn.) each chipped in with eight points, while Sweeney added six rebounds and two assists.

Improving on their shooting, the Oles shot 40% from the field and 76% from the freethrow line. The teams were even in rebounding, with the Oles grabbing 33 and Saint Mary's taking down 34.

The Oles were trailing by only eight points at the half, but the Cardinals came out and knocked down seven 3-pointers in their first eight baskets, and the Oles could not recover.

The team travels on Monday, December 8th to LeSueur for a game against Gustavus, before hosting Carleton at home on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m.
