December 8, 2003
St. Olaf traveled to Winona, Minn. for their second conference game against Saint Mary's. The Cardinals came out flying and never gave up an early lead, and held on for a 6-1 win.

Saint Marys scored the first three goals in the third period to increase their lead to 6-0. The Oles would get on the board, though with a great power play goal from John Egge (Fy., Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.). Saint Marys proved how hard it is to sweep a MIAC series and how hard it is to win on the road.
Garret Hasti had 23 saves on 29 shots in a tough game on the road. With that loss the Oles went to 1-1 in the MIAC conference and 2-6-1 overall. The Oles are off for the Christmas break, before they return for their next game against Lawrence University which takes place on Friday, January 9th.
