Ole men golfers open fall season with 4th place finish in Wisconsin

The St. Olaf men's golf team competed at the Edgewood College Fall Classic Invitational over the weekend and finished in fourth place with a team score of 640. The Oles shot a 315 the first day at The Meadows of Six Mile Creek Golf Course in Waunakee, Wisconsin. The team fired a 325 on the second day of play, to finish fourth place out of eleven teams.

Leading the Oles was Pat Gilles (Jr., Waunakee, Wis.) with a two day total 157, followed by Bryan Hapka (Jr., Mukwonago, Wis.) with a 158. Rounding out the scorers were Brandt Uthus (Sr., Minot, N.D.) firing a 162 and Brian Delaitsch (FY, Owatonna, Minn.) who shot a 163.

The team's first day total of 315 is the lowest team score shot by Ole golfers in two years.

The Oles will compete next at the Saint John's Invitational on September 13-14 at Greystone Golf Club in Sauk Center, Minnesota.
