Men's soccer falls to UW-Oshkosh

The St. Olaf men's soccer team travelled to Wisconsin for a game against University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday, Sept. 13. Conditions at game time were windy and rainy, creating a swamp-like effect on the field. The Oles realized they were going to have to adjust their style of play to meet the challenge of the conditions, but it was too late, as the Oles fell 5-0.

Oshkosh set the tone for the game, by scoring early and often. After the Oshkosh keeper made a brilliant kick-save on a breakaway by St. Olaf Junior forward Abel Bromley in the first 5 minutes, scoring opportunities for the Oles were very few and far between. Oshkosh controlled the momentum of the game, setting the tone all over the field with aggressive play and consistently solid decision-making.

This is the Oles second loss to Oshkosh in as many games, as Oshkosh has outscored St. Olaf 12-1. Next up for the men's soccer team is a non-conference game against Lawrence University on Sunday, Sept. 14th.
