It was a big Homecoming weekend for St. Olaf volleyball as they hosted two MIAC matches in two days. Friday night the Oles played five games against the College of Saint Benedict, and took a tough loss 3-2. The Oles came back on Saturday afternoon when they hosted Concordia and pulled out a 3-1 victory.

St. Olaf setter, Audrey Volstad, (FY, Hanley Falls, Minn.) sparked the Ole offense in the Friday night game against the College of Saint Benedict. The teams were tied with two games apiece heading into the fifth game. It was a fight all the way to the end, but the Oles fell to the Blazers (23-21). Despite the loss, St. Olaf was pleased with their drive in speeding up the tempo of the game.

The Oles came back strong Saturday in their match against Concordia. They controlled the Cobblers with an awesome serve receive lead by Ashley Novak (So, Red Wing, Minn.) and defeated Concordia 3-1. It was an important MIAC win for the Oles, as they are 1-3 in the MIAC and 8-8 overall.

The Oles travel to Augsburg this Wednesday, October 1st for another MIAC match, followed by a trip to Indianola, Iowa for the Simpson College Invitational on October 3rd and 4th.
