St. Thomas gives women's soccer their first conference loss

The St. Olaf women?s soccer team faced one of their biggest conference opponents on Saturday, September 27th at St.Thomas. The Tommies scored early and often, as the Ole women faced their first loss in conference play, with a 5-1, final score.
The Tommies scored early in the tenth minute on a crossed ball that none of the Oles could get to to clear. St. Thomas found the back of the Oles net again just five minutes later. The Tommies knocked in one last goal ten minutes before the halftime, to take a 3-0 lead.
The Oles scored their only goal of the game, off a free kick taken by Amy Odland (FY, Edina, Minn.) from just outside the 18. Ashley Mark (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) was able to sneak in back door and finish. The Tommies finished with two more goals in the second half, for a final score of 5-1.
This was the Oles first loss in conference play, with a 2-1-0 MIAC record and 4-5-0 overall. The women return to action against Bethel College, on Wednesday, October 1st at 4:00 p.m.
