The St. Olaf baseball team had costly errors in the bottom of the fifth inning in game two, and lost 4-2 to Hamline University Wednesday afternoon in St. Paul, Minn. The Oles opened with a 13-3 win on the heels of Charlie Ruud's (Jr., Cannon Falls, Minn.) six shutout innings.

St. Olaf (1-1 MIAC, 6-9 overall) outhit Hamline 9-6 in game two, but could not put the game away after building a 2-0 lead in the fourth. Jeff Jasperson (Jr., Duluth, Minn.) worked five solid innings, but left the game after giving up the four unearned runs on a pair of errors in the Ole infield.

Ruud pitched almost flawlessly, striking out eight, walking none and running a no hitter into the sixth with two outs in the game one victory. St. Olaf pounded 13 hits, and were helped by six errors by the Pipers.

The Oles play at Gustavus Adolphus College Saturday at 1 p.m.
