Baseball takes two from Mac

The St. Olaf baseball team erupted for six runs in the fifth inning of game two en route to an 8-4 win, completing a sweep over Macalester Saturday afternoon in St. Paul, Minn. The Oles won the first game 10-4.
St. Olaf (11-10, 6-2 MIAC) extended their winning streak to five with the sweep.
Dan Hansen (So., Eden Valley, Minn.) worked six innings in game two, allowing just five hits to earn the win. Jon Haugen (Jr., Mahtomedi, Minn.) got the win in game one, striking out five in 4 2/3 innings. Charlie Ruud (Jr., Cannon Falls, Minn.) worked the seventh in each game, and got a save in game one.
Brad Baglien (Jr., Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View) led the Ole offense, going 5-for-8 on the day, including a 4-for-4 effort in the first game. Larry Nava (So., St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) had a great day as well, going a combined 3-for-6 with three runs and five RBIs in the victories.
St. Olaf travels to Luther College tomorrow for a non-conference doubleheader with the Norse. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
