Exhibit honoring architect, alum Ed Sovik on display

An exhibit featuring the work of architect Edward Anders Sovik runs through Dec. 8 in Dittmann Center, Flaten Art Museum. Founder and chairman of the architectural firm now known as SMSQ Architects in Northfield, Minn., Sovik led his firm in the design and renovation of several hundred churches and other building projects across the country before his retirement in 1994. A St. Olaf College graduate (1939) and distinguished alumnus who designed several of the college?s buildings, Sovik?s distinctive style has modernist roots, a Scandinavian influence and durability. The exhibition includes sketches, videos featuring Sovik, photos of his buildings and more.
