Oles wrestle to tough losses in Augustana Duals

The St Olaf Wrestling team traveled to Rock Island, IL Saturday, November 23, 2002 to compete in the Augustana Duals. Despite some outstanding efforts, St Olaf was 0-3 for the day with tough losses to Augustana (41-6), William Penn (43-3), and Upper Iowa University (45-7).

AUGUSTANA 41, ST OLAF 6: Alex Morf (Sr, Mt. Vernon, Iowa) beat Chris Nowak 8-6 at 149 pounds. Jason Moore (Fr, Brooklyn Center, Minn) defeated Brian Daly 6-4 at 157 pounds.

WILLIAM PENN 43, ST OLAF 3: William Penn started off strong with big wins at 125, 133, and 141 pounds. Morf put in another great effort to beat Angelo Love 8-4 and 149 pounds. However, he would have the lone win for the Oles against William Penn.

UPPER IOWA UNIVERSITY 45, ST OLAF 7: Upper Iowa started off and ended with some big wins. However, Morf continued to wrestle hard for a win over Scott Michels 15-7. Morf maintained his perfect record for the day, ending with a 3-0 record. Moore also picked up his second win defeating Andy Geerts 5-1 putting him at 2-1 for the day.

St Olaf is scheduled to host the St Olaf Duals in the Tostrud Center 10:00am, Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002.
