The St. Olaf men's basketball team shot just 30.1 percent from the field in a 77-63 loss to Gustavus in St. Peter Monday night. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak and was the first MIAC loss for the Oles (5-2, 2-1).

St. Olaf trailed by seven at the half and cut the Gustie advantage to five with just under 14 minutes to play. Gustavus, however, went on a 12-5 run over the next five minutes to secure the lead.

Kevin Jaunich (Sr., Delano, Minn.) had 16 points and Ted Gonsior (So., Centerville, Minn./Centennial) 11 in a losing effort.

Tim Brown led the Gusties with 19. David Newell and Derek Nelson added 16 and 12.

The Oles outrebounded Gustavus 47-27, but had 22 turnovers. The Gusties turned the ball over just 13 times.

St. Olaf will host Carleton Wednesday night at 8 p.m. The game follows the women's contest, which starts at 6 p.m. Both are free of admission and can be heard on 920 AM, KDHL.
