First-year student named national Equestrian of the Year

Hillary Hoffman, 18, a first-year student at St. Olaf from Hastings, Minn., has been named the 2002 U.S.A. Junior Equestrian of the Year. Her award, called the Meredith Memorial Trophy, will be presented in mid-January in Lexington, Ken., at the U.S.A. Equestrian Annual Meeting. Hoffman has won numerous awards, including every reining/stock seat equitation class for which she's been eligible as a youth rider. This is her third nomination for U.S.A. Junior Equestrian of the Year.
