Ole women come up with first win versus St. Ben's

The St Olaf Women?s Tennis team came up with their first win of the season versus the College of Saint Benedict on Friday, April 5th, 2002 at the Owatonna Indoor Tennis Center. The final score was 6-3.
In doubles play, the Oles went 2-1 with an 8-3 win from first doubles Janelle Sagness (Jr. Mankato, Minn.) and Beth Erie (FY. Rochester, Minn.) and an 8-6 win from third doubles Carrie and Michelle Wiersma (FY's, LaCrosse, Wis.).
In the singles matches the Oles out-played the Blazers 4-2. Janelle Sagness (Jr. Mankato, Minn.) picked up the first win at number one singles with a score of 6-4, 6-2. Number three singles Bethany Kochsiek (Sr. LaCrosse, Wis.) continued the winning streak with a 6-3, 6-2 outcome. Yvonne Yang (Jr. Appleton, Wis.) won 6-4, 6-2 and Lindsay Johnson (FY, Verona, Wis.) won 6-3, 6-7 (10-8) at number 5 and 6 singles, respectively, to secure the Ole win.
The St Olaf women?s squad looks to build on their first win with their next match versus St. Mary's at the Owatonna Indoor on Apr 13, at 11:00 AM. Their overall record is now 1-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
