Dean and Provost James Pence chairing academic group

James Pence, dean and provost of St. Olaf College, has been named chairman of the American Conference of Academic Deans (ACAD). As chair, Pence will lead two meetings a year of the 16-person ACAD board, comprised of former and current vice presidents for academic affairs, provosts, deans and associate deans from colleges and universities throughout the United States. The ACAD currently has 600 members.
