St. Paul student who 'beat the odds' to attend St. Olaf this fall
April 16, 2002
Lily Moua, a senior at Arlington High School in St. Paul, is the sixth of 12 children of Hmong parents who speak no English -- and who initially objected to her school-related activities. Moua is among five Twin Cities high school seniors profiled in the Star Tribune (Minneapolis) for receiving a "Beat the Odds" award from the Children's Defense Fund-Minnesota. She'll attend St. Olaf College this fall.
