St. Olaf Choir receives its first international recording contract
April 19, 2002
The St. Olaf Choir is undertaking a major recording project with Linn Records of London, England. Works by Charles Ives were recorded in mid-April at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, Minn. The recording features The Celestial Country, a cantata representing Ives' early romantic compositional period, and excerpts from his collection of 140 songs. The works will be released on a single CD next December both in Europe and the United States. The St. Olaf Choir is directed by Anton Armstrong.
