B.J. Rossow (Faribault, Minn./Bethlehem Academy HS) and Tyler Petrich (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) combined to shoot seven-of-11 from three-point range leading Hamline to their first conference victory of the year, a 73-72 decision over the struggling Oles.

Hamline, down seven at half, was six-for-eight from the arc in the second half. The Pipers led by as many as nine in the second frame.

Mike Ludwig (Jr., Blaine, Minn.) had 17 of his game high 27 in the first half for St. Olaf. Ludwig had a chance with under five seconds to play, but his turnaround jump shot caromed off the rim.

Rossow and Petrich finished with 18 points each for Hamline. Mike Robison (Sr., Richfield, Minn.) added ten points and 11 rebounds for the Pipers in the win.

Tim Nelson (Jr., Braham, Minn.) had 11 points, while Matt Hofkens (Sr., Neenah, Wis.) and Justin Bonestroo (Jr., Stillwater, Minn.) contributed ten each.

The loss is the seventh in a row for St. Olaf and their eighth in a row at home. The setback was the seventh MIAC game in which the Oles had the lead, or had a chance to tie or take the lead in the final minute. St. Olaf has lost eight games by seven or less.

St. Olaf has a chance to break their losing streak on Wednesday, February 6, when they travel to Collegeville for a duel with St. John's University. The Johnnies defeated St. Olaf 63-56 in January. The game can be heard on 920 AM, KDHL.
