Daymont named MIAC Track Athlete of the Week

St. Olaf College junior Megan Daymont (Northfield, Minn.) won two individual events, and ran a leg on the winning 4 X 400 M relay team (4:10.47) at the Saint Mary's University Invitational on Saturday, February 9. Daymont posted a time of 59.97 in the 400 meters and came back shortly afterwards with a 3:01.38 in the 1000 M. Both individual performances as well as the relay time, set new facility records at Saint Mary's University. Daymont has the best MIAC times in the 400 M(59:97), 600 M(1:38.39), 800 M(2:17.17), 1000 M ( 3;01.38), and 1500 M( 4:40.06) events and has met the provisional national qualifying standards in both the 800 M and the 1500 M runs. She also is currently undefeated this season. There are two remaining races prior to the MIAC Championships in which Daymont will try to attain the automatic qualifier in the 1500 M. The Oles will race Saturday, February 16, at the University of Minnesota at 9:00 AM and again Friday, February 22, at the Coca Cola Classic at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls at 6:30 PM.
