Ole grapplers host North Country Invite
January 7, 2002
Saturday, January 5, St. Olaf hosted an enormous field of fifteen teams for the North Country Invitational. More than 150 wrestlers participated in the tournament and provided hours of fast-paced wrestling for the few wrestling enthusiasts that came out for this event.
The top three teams of the field of fifteen were: Wartburg College (Waverly, IA), Augsburg College (St. Paul, MN), and University of Mary (SD) respectively. The Oles, who are still plagued by sickness and injury, fielded seven wrestlers for the day. Highlights for the Oles were Trevor Lund (FY, Hastings, Minn.) who went 1-2 on the day and Jay DeCoux (FY, Medford, Minn.) who went 2-2 on the day.
The next meet for the wrestling Oles will be on Wednesday, January 9, when they travel to River Falls, Wisconsin. The meet starts at 7:00 p.m.
