Robb Flint's (Sr., Dilworth, Minn.) running jumper and free throws with under a minute to play enabled Concordia-Moorhead College to hold on to beat St. Olaf 78- 73. Flint's basket put the Cobbers up 74-71.

Tim Nelson (Jr., Braham, Minn.) scored on the ensuing possession to cut the Cobber lead to one. The Oles then stopped Concordia and had a chance to tie or take the lead with 44 seconds to play. However, St. Olaf turned the ball back to Concordia six seconds later, and were forced to foul and send Flint to the free- throw line.

Flint nailed the foul shots to extend the Concordia lead to three, 76-73. St. Olaf's attempt to tie on the next possession fell just short, as Nelson's three- pointer rattled in and out with seven seconds to play.

The Ole's Mike Ludwig (Jr., Blaine, Minn.) led all Ole scorers finishing with 14 and Justin Bonestroo (Jr., Stillwater, Minn.) had ten in a losing effort.

Jeff Ubben (Sr., Moorhead, Minn.) had 15 points and John Breneman (Jr.,Roseville, Minn./Minnehaha Academy) had 12 to lead the Cobbers.

The loss marked the fourth time that the Oles lost when they had a chance to tie or take the lead in the final minute. St. Olaf is now 7-11 overall and 3-10 in MIAC play. They have lost eight of their last nine.

The Oles host Bethel College on Monday, January 28, at 7:30 PM. The Royals pummeled the Oles earlier this month, winning 90-57 in Arden Hills on January 2. The game is free of admission and can be heard on 920 AM, KDHL.
