The Ole women faced the Concordia Cobbers in a two-game series. St. Olaf lost the first game 4-0 and the second game 4-1.

These were big games for the Oles as a result of a year-old rivalry between the two teams. On Friday, November 30, the Oles battled hard against the Cobbers but unfortunately came out with a loss. In the first period, the Cobbers scored twice, at 4:28 and again at 8:00. The Oles continued to stay strong and held the Cobbers to only two more goals, at 9:39 in the second period and at 9:20 in the third to reach a final score of 4-0. The St. Olaf defense had an incredible game with great performances by Megan Duffey (Sr, Richfield, Minn.), Sarah Ray (So, St. Paul, Minn.), Jenny Groth (FY, Waupaca, Wis.), and Lorna Wilson (FY, Wasilla, AK.). First Year goaltender Andrea Smith (Burnsville, Minn.) also had a terrific game making 28 saves for the Oles.

On Saturday, December 1, the Oles faced the Cobbers again at Faribault Ice Arena. The Oles once again put up a good fight against the Cobbers. Scoring first in the game was Concordia at 9:40 in the first period and then again at 14:32. In the second period, Concordia scored two more times. However, the Oles answered back in the last minute of the second period with a huge goal scored by Groth with the assists from Brit Schultheis (FY, Shorview, Minn.) and captain Megan Duffey. The fierce rivalry was reflected in the number of penalties for both teams. In the end, the Oles had a good game but lost to Concordia 4-1. Ole Goaltender Kerry Rollwagen (FY, Mendota Heights, Minn.) had a great game with 35 saves. And the Oles put the good pressure on the Cobber goalie with 20 shots.

The Oles take on the College of St. Catherine?s at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, at Northfield Ice Arena. Saturday, December 8, the Oles will play at 7 p.m. at SPA in St. Paul for the second game against St. Catherines.
