The Ole women had a rough weekend against the College of St. Catherine dropping both games, 4-0 and 6-1. St. Olaf is now 3-8 overall and 1-5 in the MIAC.

On Friday, December 7, the Oles played at home at the Northfield Ice Arena. Unfortunately, the Oles were unable to pull off a win. Great efforts were made by all players; and notably, Erin Baxter, (FY, Rosemount, Minn.) led the charge. St. Kate?s scored two goals in the first period and two in the third period tallying a final score of 4-0. The Oles had 22 shots on goal while Ole goaltenders, Kerry Rollwagen (FY, Mendota Heights, Minn.) and Andrea Smith (FY, Burnsville, Minn.) had a total of 35 saves.

On Saturday, December 8, the Oles traveled to St. Paul for the second game in the series against St. Kates. The Oles had a solid first period, keeping the game scoreless. Unfortunately, in the second period, St. Kate?s had many scoring opportunities scoring five goals on 21 shots. The Oles stepped it up in the third period and played with some heart to score a power play goal 30 seconds into the first period. Kate Barnett (FY, Burnsville, Minn.) scored with the assists from Sarah Ray (So, St. Paul, Minn.) and Jenny Groth (FY, Waupaca, Wis.). St. Kate?s scored one more time before the clock ran out bringing the final score to 6-1. The Oles had 23 shots on goal and goaltender Amanda Chumbley (Jr, Menomonee Falls, Wis.) had 34 saves in the loss.

The Oles next game is against the Hamline Pipers at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, in St. Paul.
