On Saturday, November 3 the St. Olaf Men?s Soccer Team hosted conference rivals Carleton College. The Oles entered the contest with a 4-4-1 MIAC record, while the Knights of Carleton entered the match with a MIAC record of 4-5-0.

The first half produced a flurry of action, but neither team could find the back of the net. The Oles entered halftime in the midst of a 0-0 battle. At halftime six seniors were recognized for their contribution to the Ole program. The seniors playing in their final game were: Paul Grimsud (Sr., Bozemon, Mont.), Ross MacMullan (Sr., Birchwood, Minn), Kully Nelson (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.), Brian Smith (Sr., Fort Calhoun, Neb.), Kyle Swanson (Sr., Cottage Grove, Minn.), and Karl Wilbur (Sr., Edina, Minn.).

In the second half, the Oles poured on the pressure and created plenty of scoring opportunities. In the 73rd minute, Ben Clymer (Jr., Hudson, Wis.) would give the Oles the only goal they would need. The 1-0 victory was a great way for the Ole seniors to go out with a four-year sweep of their conference rivals Carleton College.

The victory makes the Oles final overall record for the season 7-10-1, 5-4-1 in the MIAC.
