The Ole women?s hockey team had an intense match up against the Hamline Pipers on Tuesday, November 20. The Pipers pulled out the win 2-1.

Both teams came out strong and battled hard for the puck. Halfway through the first period, Hamline scored on a lucky play. The Oles were unable to tally a goal in the score column during the first period. Going into the second period, the Oles were ready to score. A battle in front of the net resulted in the puck going past the Hamline goaltender. However the play was blown dead prior to the goal and the ruling was "no-goal".

The Oles picked up their intensity and carried it into the third period where at the 5:32 mark, Brit Schultheis (FY, Shoreview, Minn.) scored an unassisted goal. With the game tied the competition became fiercer and Hamline answered back with another goal four minutes later. The Oles tried very hard to put another puck in the net, pulling the goaltender, Kerry Rollwagen, (FY, Mendota Heights, Minn.) in the last minute and a half. Even with the final score of 1-2, the Oles played well. The Oles had 29 shots on goal and Rollwagen made 15 saves for the Oles. They will face Hamline once more this season.

The next match up is against Concordia at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 30, at the Northfield, Ice Arena.
