Kevin Jaunich (Jr., Delano, Minn.) led four Oles in double figures with 16 points in St. Olaf's 74-70 win over non-conference foe Northwestern College of Roseville.

Mike Ludwig (Jr., Blaine, Minn.) added 12 points, while Justin Bonestroo (Jr., Stillwater, Minn.) and Matt Hofkens (Sr., Neenah, Wis.) contributed ten each in the win.

Hofkens, who joined the basketball team two weeks ago after playing football, was four-of-five from the field in just 12 minutes of action.

The Oles never lost the lead in the game until the 2:30 mark of the second half when the Eagles tied the game at 68. Jaunich then broke the tie with a lay-up on the following possession. Junior Tim Nelson (Braham, Minn.) extended the lead with a three in the corner, propelling St. Olaf to their third win of the season.

The Oles will next be in action on Saturday, December 1. They will travel to the Lund Center in St. Peter to play the second game of a basketball double-header against 13th-ranked and undefeated Gustavus Adolphus. The contest will follow the women's game, which will begin at 1 p.m.

Last season, Gustavus swept the series. The Gusties thumped the Oles 95-64 in St. Peter on December 2 and held on to win at Skoglund 78-75 on January 4. The game is the first MIAC game for both teams.
