The Oles hosted Hamline on Tuesday, September 25 and came out firing from the start. In the first 15 minutes of the game the Oles fired shot after shot just wide of the goal. Finally in the 19th minute, Kristi Parks (So, Plymouth, Minn.) scored the first of her three goals when she broke free in the penalty box and placed a shot nicely out of the range of the keeper. The assist was awarded to Carolyn Detjen (Jr., Juneau, Ala.). Five minutes later, Hamline retaliated with a goal of their own in the 24th minute. The Oles were not to be outdone and within 24 seconds, Parks once again broke free and scored her second goal through the hands of the keeper. The assist was from Emily Klamm (FY, Mt. Prospect, Ill.). The score was 2-1 going into the half.

The Oles came out strong in the second half with a goal in the 70th minute by Brie Messick (So., Hastings, Minn.). Messick executed her trademark breakaway and perfectly placed the shot. The through ball was played by center-midfielder Sarah Cornell (FY, Minnetonka, Minn.). This time there was no answer from Hamline. The Oles went on to score two more goals before the final whistle blew. Stacy Gauger (Sr., Bloomington, Minn.) followed a shot taken by Parks and played the rebound right back into the goal. The final goal of the game completed a hat trick for Parks. The assist on this goal was again credited to Detjen.

This win brings the Oles to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in conference. Catch the Oles next game as they play Concordia in Moorhead at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 29. The game versus St. Benedict postponed from September 22 is now scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 21 at St. Olaf.
