St. Olaf Choir to be featured on Saint Paul Sunday Easter program

NORTHFIELD, Minn. ? The St. Olaf Choir will be heard by 600,000 Easter Sunday listeners on 219 radio stations nationwide when it is featured April 15 on Minnesota Public Radio?s "Saint Paul Sunday."

The St. Olaf Choir Easter program may be heard locally from 9 to 10 a.m. Sunday on KSJN-FM (99.5), Twin Cities, and on KLSE-FM (91.7), Rochester. More information, including texts of the music and a list of other stations that will broadcast the program, may be found at the Saint Paul Sunday website, http://www.saintpaulsunday.org.

The St. Olaf Choir, conducted by Anton Armstrong, will sing "Sicut cervus" by Palestrina, "Easter Anthem" by Billings, "Our Father" by Gretchaninoff, "Psalm 50" by Christiansen, "Daemon Irrepit Callidus" by Orbán, "The Lord is the Everlasting God" by Jennings, Copland?s "The Promise of Living," "Yom She Le-Yisrael" arranged by Cohen, "Children of the Heavenly Father" arranged by Scholz, Moses Hogan?s "My Soul?s Been Anchored in the Lord," and "Praise His Holy Name" by Keith Hampton.

The 75-member St. Olaf Choir is the nation?s premier collegiate a cappella ensemble. Directed by Armstrong since 1990, the St. Olaf Choir continues to develop the tradition that originated with its founder, F. Melius Christiansen.

"Saint Paul Sunday," hosted by Bill McGlaughlin, features performances by and interviews with the world?s top classical musicians. The program has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Peabody Award for distinguished achievement and meritorious public service.

St. Olaf College prepares students to become responsible citizens of the world, fostering development of mind, body and spirit.
