Third of five senior art exhibits starts Sunday at St. Olaf College

NORTHFIELD, Minn. ?Eight exhibits by St. Olaf College senior art majors will be featured in the third of five shows in the annual Festival of Senior Work Sunday, April 22, through Thursday, April 26, in Steensland Art Museum.

The show is free and open to the public, with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Steensland Art Museum is open Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The third Festival of Senior Work show will feature the art of Marea Checheris, Inger Deede, Gretchen Deutsch, Erin Hande, Nils Oiseth, Aaron Persen, Jessica Smith and Brady Whitcomb. Exhibits will include cartoons, oil paintings, sculpture and photographs suspended from the ceiling.

Each Festival of Senior Work exhibit is a culmination of four years of study and creative effort by St. Olaf College art majors and is a requirement for graduation.

The Festival of Senior Work includes five shows ? one per week. Other future show dates are April 29-May 3 and May 6-10.
